Has anyone actually stayed in the most expensive hotel in Paris ?

So I've been doing some research for a trip I'm planning and I keep coming across the same names... the Ritz, the Peninsula, the Bristol. Prices start around 1500 euros per night for a basic room, sometimes way more depending on the season. What gets me is that I can't figure out if the experience is genuinely different from a very good 4-star, or if you're mostly paying for the prestige. I spent two nights at a nice 4-star near the Marais last spring, around 280 euros a night, and honestly it was already really comfortable. So when I see what they charge at what people call the most expensive hotel in Paris, I wonder what exactly justifies that gap. Is it the staff attention, the interior, the breakfast quality ? Something you can't put into words ?
If someone here has actually been, even just for a drink at the bar, I'd love to hear what the atmosphere felt like from the inside.
